Went to 2 different libraries to take out all the books on the Gingerbread man!A gingerbread unit isn’t complete until you can decorate your own gingerbread men! Got the cookie set at Costco, and all of the toppings from Bulk Barn.Created a gingerbread man hunt! Students went to explore the office, and the custodian’s office for clues to find the gingerbread men that ran away!

I photoshopped the gingerbread man into various locations in the community so we could discuss our community! This is Walmart, then I asked them what they could see in the photo and to make a story about why the gingerbread man went here.We did a fun fill in the blank and decided to change it up before I started reading them the different variations of the gingerbread man.
We sang songs!Here are some literacy centres I made. There are letters with paperclips to practice motor action and clothespins and gingerbread men with lettering on them.Gingerbread men bingo cards!!Math gingerbread men. Students would have to arrange them in order. I made “fake baking pans” by covering a piece of cardboard with aluminum foil.I printed off these pictures so students can practice telling their own stories of where the gingerbread men went! He could’ve went to Dollarama, No Frills, Walmart, the library, McDonalds and Square One!
